CHRIS ERICKSON says of his paintings, "The intent of my paintings is to provide a unique perspective on the western landscape. I strive to provide an interpretation of the subject, not a documentation."
Chris grew up on front range of the Colorado Rockies and has lived all over the state. He started drawing regularly at the age of five and started painting in college. His current work ranges from almost fanciful splashy colored canyons and desert regions to deep mysterious forest scenes teeming with life and glowing light. Chris is a very innovative artist who explores constantly and fearlessly to find new ways to present his choice of subject.
Chris has participated in numerous shows including The Aspen Valley Land Trust Show, The Wulfson Ranch Show in Glenwood Springs, Providence Gallery in Denver, Fall Arts Festival in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, "Watercourse", and "Paris on the Platt.
